Ryan Martin is the editor of The Indianapolis Star's breaking news and public safety team. Martin has a history of growing website and social media audiences, leading journalists through lasting digital change and working across departments to build new brands and products. His redesign of has been recognized by Local Media Association, Inland Press Association and Hoosier State Press Association, and he was named to Editor & Publisher's 25 Under 35 list in 2015. Martin previously worked as associate regional editor for, where he oversaw 10 community news and information websites and led a team of six local editors. He started with Patch in August 2010, when he launched the first Patch website in Missouri. Martin holds a bachelor’s degree from the Missouri School of Journalism and an MBA from Washington University’s Olin Business School.
